Gallery cafe and Peterhof cafe
The palaces and parks of Peterhof are known all over the world. It is very difficult to overestimate, as well as to describe the truly amazing charm of the most luxurious summer residence of the Russian Tsars. Peter the Great himself arranged the layout of the parks. Trees were imported from Germany, Denmark, Holland and different regions of Russia. The best architects built palaces and pavilions here. The Peterhof fountains are second to none. Mon Plaisir, the Grand Palace, Samson, the Great Cascade, Marli, an ocean of impressions and a fresh sea breeze. After this splendour it is all but necessary to have a good snack. Besides, the Peterhof, a small, very charming and cosy Cafe-Bar, will really raise your appetite. It is situated some two hundred yards from the Grand Palace. Here you will find about 20 different kinds of appetizers, six to eight kinds of soup, and five or six main dishes. The splendour of Peterhof and the energy of its visitors are well supported by pot-baked Orlovsky Dumplings with mushrooms, the old-Russian-style Pork-and-Mushrooms, and the Moscow-style baked Sudak. The Peterhof can seat thirty-two visitors. And for those who cannot tear themselves away from the treasures of the Grand Palace, hungry as they are, there is a cafe in its Western Gallery. Elegant, full of light, snow-white, the Gallery offers the same dishes as the Peterhof, plus a magnificent view of the Lower and the Upper Parks. The Gallery seats 90 visitors. Both establishments offer a great variety of wines and beers, and are always happy to welcome tourist groups.
